Consistency Is The Key




WHEN you are suffering from many symptoms associated with a long term illness, I can tell you from experience, all you want is some quick fix solution, to be completely well and back in the game of life as you knew it! It is very difficult to be slowed down to the pace of a snail and not know why your body will not do what you are trying to tell it to do! That was part of my story.


But this was also part of my story. AS I learned of little things I could do for my body to feel better, I implemented them. Such as, eliminating processed sugars from my diet. After a few weeks without sugar, I did not feel any better at all! In fact, I may have felt worse. Although tempted to go back to eating sugar, I was convinced that this was a healthy step in my healing process. Still, I struggled to implement it day after day after day. AND with my struggle, I did what I try to always do.: I talked to God about it and asked for His perspective and wisdom and help. He spoke to my heart with these words: "Consistency is your key." And along with it, this scripture was put in front of me over and over and over:


Galatians 6:9

" And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not."


I was clear on what God was directing and encouraging me to do.

Yet, changing what went into my mouth really did not show any significant result for almost a year, that I could feel or see. But under the surface, consistency WAS at work. I was gaining access to a key to my healing process as I persevered. Finally, one day, I actually DID feel and see improvements in my health by remaining consistent over a long period of time.


This is very important news for chronic illness sufferers. WE often want to see the quick results that someone without any illness experiences. But for us, it may take a bit longer to experience the results. I am here to encourage you in this process! Cling to God and let Him help you not weary in the well-doing. Embrace the steps to health you are being led to take. Take one day at a time and be as consistent as possible. For then, you will reap the harvest if you faint not! You CAN do this!
